So I am finding on my KOTBS that I enjoy the sword and board, it seems to play to my advantage in that it gives me a huge survivability increase and also allows me access to some nice abilities, but on that same note I see tanks running around with two handers who spend a lot of time running back from the warcamp.

I understand why people do that, they want to get killing blows, or score higher on the dps charts, but they are forgoing a very important roll in RVR, protection. It is the role of the tank to protect the lesser on the battle field, i.e.: the healer, the mDPS, and rDPS. I find myself doing this with snares, roots, knockdowns and so on. Basically controlling where the enemy goes within our lines.

Additionally I find that having that huge survivability means that you can eat a lot more hits than the counterparts around you, ultimately adding more to the battle. Instead of running back to the fight I am often going from one target to the next leading and assist train, where I will slow a target, knock them down and have the swaths of DPS swarm them.

I am glad that people like the survivability of the tank but want to DPS, but there are too few people playing the class as a tank in RVR making it harder to defend the weaker ones in the ranks. So...dust off the sword and board and go out and show how that tank should be played. Mind you I to like the KB's from time to time, aka scenarios, but there is a time and a place for that.
